Artificial tanning in Copacabana

The tanning process performed here at InCorpore Estética pigments the surface of the skin, giving the impression of a darker color. The skin is actually tinted, like a self-tanner. We use a pigment extracted from carrots and beets. This is DHA (dihydroxyacetone). It does not contain aggressive chemical agents and rarely causes any type of allergy.

Regarding machine tanning or tanning beds, I must inform you that this method is prohibited in Rio de Janeiro by Anvisa (under RDC 56/2009) because of the health risks involved. Therefore, its use is not permitted in RJ, and we do not offer it in compliance with this law.

However, we do offer a safe and approved alternative: artificial tanning using a 100% natural tanning solution. It provides a beautiful, natural-looking glow without any exposure to UV radiation.

It promotes a safer tan without harming the skin; the technique leaves the skin more golden and even-toned, prepared to receive the sun in the summer without overdoing it.

First, you need to do a pre-peeling on your entire body to ensure even application of the product. This exfoliation can be done at home with a simple loofah sponge. When you come for your tanning session, do not apply any creams, moisturizers, deodorant, or any type of perfume. Wear light clothing that doesn’t cling to your body.

The pigment takes about eight hours to dry completely. Therefore, the product should remain on the body for 6 to 8 hours, without showering, to allow the product to adhere well to the skin. As mentioned above, it is also recommended to wear looser clothing while the product is still drying (the same advice applies to footwear; opt for open sandals that allow your feet to move freely).

The color effect lasts 2 to 3 days, and can be reapplied to extend its duration. The tan can last up to 7 days depending on skin type and skincare routine. Remember, to maximize the duration, it’s important to exfoliate your skin well before tanning to remove all superficial dead skin cells and body oils. This exfoliation can be done at home with a loofah. After the tanning session, you’ll have residue-free skin and better pigment absorption. The skin’s surface is constantly renewing itself, so it’s important to remove dead cells before applying the product, as already mentioned. This will also prevent dark spots, which appear when one part of the body accumulates more dead cells than another.

After leaving InCorpore Estética, you can sunbathe without fear. As long as, of course, you don’t go swimming in the sea. The pigment layer does not protect you against ultraviolet rays.
